Better Food Bucks™ is A Better Initiative’s fresh-produce incentive program for residents who do not receive SNAP but still struggle with the rising cost of healthy food.
The program is being developed to help participating households stretch their grocery budgets through a dollar-for-dollar fresh-produce incentive. Residents will retain the freedom to select and purchase the fruits and vegetables that meet their household’s needs and preferences.
Better Food Bucks™ is not currently accepting participants. Program details, eligibility requirements and launch information will be announced as funding becomes available.
Better Food Bucks™ is designed for working families, older adults and other residents who may not qualify for SNAP but still face difficulty affording fresh food.
Eligible participants will purchase fresh produce from an approved participating retailer and receive a matching incentive toward additional fruits and vegetables.
Participants will choose and purchase their own food rather than receive a predetermined charitable distribution. The program supports household choice, personal investment and continued access to nourishing food.
